We visited the Rewa district in Sitapur, where we conducted a seminar on the importance of conserving plants in local schools. It was well-received by the Public Pradhan and the Secretary, and even by the students and their parents. We provided flags and caps to all students, planted many seeds, and entrusted the responsibility to maintain the plants to the students. When we visited after a month, we were pleasantly impressed to see that the plants were being cared for.

  • On the 9th of September 2019

This was the day the Hoot Welfare Society formed under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. On the 10th of September, the next day, we undertook plant conservation initiatives under the banner “Go Green, Save Money”.

  • On the 27th of October, 2019

We held an awareness drive for a pollution-free Deepawali on our social media handles. Four days later, we invested money in a potter’s business. Their earnings had been reduced, so we supported them and educated them about the power of social media and how to harness it. This gesture was the inspiration for our initiative, “Gullak-e-Hoot.”

We promoted a local “andey wala” (egg salesman) on our social media because of his love for charity and magnanimous gestures in giving free eggs to cancer patients. We celebrated our “Go Green, Save Money” initiative on the 23rd of December. We promoted e-payment channels and converted to digital money systems to conserve paper.

  • On the 3rd of January, 2020

The cold was record-breaking, and many were suffering. Despite our promotion of non-dependency, the people’s need was the most crucial factor and motivated our decision. Six days later, we distributed clothes in a clothes drive.

  • On the 15th of January, 2020

We launched Gullak-e-Hoot 2.0. This initiative ensures that all the change or “chiller” that is often lost can be consolidated and utilized for society’s overall benefit. The 2.0 Gullak is environmentally and pocket-friendly. On the 28th, we decided not to ask for donations but to ensure that people directly invested in us. To this end, we plan to conduct essay writing and other competitions. Four days later, on the 2nd of February, we made participation accessible and waived registration fees if they could invite ten other participants. This waiver was to increase our outreach.

  • On the 14th of February, 2020

We asked the heads of various institutions to promote the “Go Green, Save Money” initiative. Unfortunately, very few institutions took up the clarion call. On the 10th of March, we organized the 1st Swaraj Charity via Talent, Expressay Essay writing competition’s results were declared.

  • 24th of March to the 5th of June, 2020

We undertook a massive effort to distribute essential goods across Lucknow. We also fed stray dogs, monkeys, and cows. This was an enormous effort that covered all of Lucknow. It culminated on the 5th of June, 2020, where we planted several trees to commemorate Earth Day.

  • From the 22nd to the 29th of June, 2020

We launched an initiative to fight COVID-19 called “Know Your Foes” and distributed masks and soaps. On the 5th of July, we tied up with Lucknow Development Authority. We planted many seeds on the occasion of Van Mahotsav. In mid-July. From the 10th, we planned to hold an art competition to raise awareness of accidents involving dogs. “Bust the Stress” opened registration from the 3rd to the 17th of August, and the submission was from the 18th to the 25th. On the 28th of August 2020, the result was declared for the competition.

  • On the 9th of September, 2020

We celebrated our first anniversary by carrying out a Corona and plantation drive. The next day, we distributed reflective dog collars. On the 15th, a wall painting competition was held to promote plant conservation, and the motto “don’t shop” was broadcast.

  • On the 20th of September

A seminar on “Mind Your Health” with Dr. Sameer Malhotra, a trained psychiatrist with almost two decades of experience, emphasized the importance of mental health. On the 30th, a nutrition awareness program, “Paushtik Aahar- Kuposhan pe War” was held in the “Pooshan Maah” to spread awareness about malnutrition and its impact. .
